This weekend the family celebrated round one of sibling shared birthdays.  Big brother may or may not have wanted a baby sister for his 5th birthday… but being the type of parents that make sure nobody is left out, I got a baby sister on my birthday too.

That evening, after spending all of our change on quarter machine trinkets at Pizza Hut, we tucked in our blanket capes, and watched Game of Thrones (most certainly not pirated from the internet).

The next morning K and I melted all of our credit cards buying knitted winter hats and model rocket engines, but not without my weekend-ly trip to the Office, where the baristas finally (officially) recognize my Peppermint Mocha on the drink board, (even though it is delicious all.year.round).  Afterward we went back up to the big city to get our share of hand crafted creepy plush toys and tacos.

Sunday morning we went over to check out birthday boy’s brand (new?) vintage jukebox, then it was back home to watch da bears and eat burgers (like the rest of Chicago).  K realized, to her horror, that she was actually old, not because of the number on the card, but because she was puh-retty excited to get a giant cat toy as her gift.  Happy birthday J + K!!
