This weekend was one for the books, and not just the because Saturday and Sunday had record high temperatures for Chicago in March. Saturday morning started off with a drive out to the suburbs for what I thought would be lunch with the boyfriend.
We stopped at a park, and A had me trek out to the woods, cutting through thicket and dodging ridiculously pointy eye level branches. When I was good and cranky, he pulled out the most beautiful ring, and asked me to marry him (at least I am pretty sure that’s what he asked, as my brain was spinning and my eyes couldn’t focus because they were blinded by pretty.
We headed out to my parents to tell them the good news and show off my newest hand garnish. We made plans to return to my parents on Sunday for a good ol’ fashioned bbq, and have some engagement ribs, with a side of engagement asparagus… there was even engagement washers to be played and engagement puppies to be petted.
This weekend was bursting with love and warmth… I really am the luckiest girl around, to be surrounded by such great friends and family. I have come down with a pretty severe case of the warm and fuzzies.
